Cottage Charm, Traditional, Transitional, Old World, Modern, Contemporary, Romantic, Craftsman, Tuscan, Mediterranean, Coastal, French Country…
We each have different images in our minds when we hear these styles of kitchens. There is no right or wrong answer. Even if you pick a “Coastal” style kitchen, it may not include boats or typical images of what we think is found at our coasts. You may be thinking of a color palette or light and airy feel. With “Cottage Charm”, I may think of rustic and antique and you may think of gardens and light yellows. Our opinions are formed throughout our lifetime and each person’s is unique and relevant.
When meeting with your kitchen designer to pick out cabinetry and accessories for your dream kitchen, bringing in pictures found either online or in magazines is extremely helpful and time saving. If you can SHOW your designer what you love, it will make it much easier on both of you to get exactly what you’re imagining.
Let’s take a Kitchen Style Quiz… It’ll be fun!

If you said “either one” for all of the kitchens above, you are correct! Great job. If you didn’t, you’ve now learned the importance of collecting images to show your designer.
